On a sunny September morning over 700 people from all walks of life came together in support of Recovery Café. This year’s Standing in the Gap, held at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall was one of our most successful, raising over $625,000 that will go directly to programs serving our Members.
The morning was filled with community, compassion and, of course, coffee, creating an atmosphere of love and warmth. If you were unable to attend this year’s Standing in the Gap, we invite you to watch Killian’s address by clicking on the photo below, where she address the 3 P’s that serve as road blocks to our spiritual, emotional, and psychological well-being.
Every day at Recovery Café we are reminded of the struggles, traumas, and barriers that our Members face in maintaining their sobriety, gaining housing and employment, or simply getting up in the mornings. But we are also reminded of the tremendous hope and love and gifts and talents that all of our Members have, that they share with us every day. We also invite you to watch our board member Alysse’s talk about her life and how she came to support Recovery Café.
An event like Standing in the Gap takes a village and we want to thank everyone who made this year’s event happen including all of our attendees, Bridge Builders and sponsors, who ensured that every dollar raised at Standing at the Gap went directly to our programs and services.
