A letter from Vivian – Winner of the King County Poster Contest For the Recovery Cafe, With Gratitude: For years, on the bus, looking through the window I saw the beautiful building – that solid structure so different from its surroundings: Recovery Cafe. I thought it was an exclusive club; very expensive and difficult to get in.

James came to Recovery Café by way of Veteran’s Court. His probation officer told him about the Café, but he avoided visiting for a few weeks. He arrived in September 2016 battling a meth addiction. “From Rats to Riches” By Ashley Dykstra Keith was overjoyed. He, a recovering addict with an arrest record, passed the enlistment process to be a culinary specialist with the United States Army. Two days before he was scheduled to leave for basic training, a car struck his bicycle. The driver fled the scene, leaving Keith
